Bob Schneeweis

Bob Schneeweis is an award winning pianist originally from the Twin Cities, MN.  Prior to moving to Detroit, Bob worked foremost as pianist, composer/arranger, and music director for the popular Minneapolis-based Latin orchestra Salsabrosa, as well as writing for and performing with the much-lauded Atlantis Quartet (then Quintet). An exceptionally diverse performer and composer, he has collaborated with a wide array of groups, from traditional to modern jazz, from hip hop and reggae to electronic music, and from world music (particularly African and Carnatic/SE Asian) to solo and collaborative classical music.  His compositions and arrangements for Latin orchestra, big band, jazz combo, string quartet, classical piano, and other non-traditional ensembles have been performed in a variety of settings by many excellent musicians from around the world.

Bob continues to maintain an active performance schedule in Jazz and beyond, having played at many of the region’s premier restaurants and other venues, including the London Chop House, Weber’s, Cliff Bell’s, ImaginATE, Fishbones, and many others. 
In addition, he maintains an active private teaching studio, providing instruction in jazz and classical technique, theory and composition, and has served as a guest teacher/clinician at high school and post-secondary institutions.

Scott Gwinnell

Jazz Pianist / Composer / Educator

Scott Gwinnell is a professional jazz pianist residing in Detroit, MI. Scott has been performing since the age of 16 in venues and on concert stages, local to international. Scott has recorded and performed as a bandleader and sideman on over 40 professionally released recordings. As a recording artist for Detroit Music Factory, Scott has released two award-winning albums, Cass Corridor Story and Mulgrew-ology, the latter winning three Detroit Music Awards for outstanding recording, artist, and composer. The recording rose to #32 in the international jazz charts and played on radio stations around the world. Mulgrew-ology was recorded by the Scott Gwinnell Jazz Orchestra, a 16 piece, big band organized by Gwinnell in 1999. The ensemble is dedicated to playing compositions and arrangements by the leader. As a pianist, Gwinnell has performed/toured/recorded with: Dizzy Gillespie, Jimmy Heath, John Clayton, Dave Liebman, Joe Lovano, Aretha Franklin, Elaine Stritch, Delfayeo Marsalis, and Jon Hendricks, for whom Gwinnell was three year musical director.

During his 35 year music career, Scott has been a solo pianist at many of the top restaurants and clubs in Detroit. Besides playing at the Caucus Club for seven years, he has held jobs at the most prestigious Detroit restaurants, such as: The London Chophouse, Marais, Sparky Herbers, Joe Muer’s as well as multiple engagements at jazz clubs: Baker’s Keyboard Lounge, Cliff Bell’s, The Blue Llama, Aretha’s Jazz Club, The Firefly Jazz Club, and Del Rio.

Besides performing as a jazz pianist for solo and group engagements, Scott is a professor of music at Oakland University, Wayne State University, Michigan State University - Detroit, and University of Toledo.

Rodney Reeves

Rodney Reeves holds a Jazz Studies degree from Wayne State University, where he studied under the late Matt Michaels, a renowned pianist who famously accompanied Barbra Streisand at the Caucus Club in 1962.

Mr. Reeves is a versatile artist, actively performing in commercial, prestigious venues, and festivals such as the Montreux Detroit Jazz Festival. His career highlights include appearances on the "American European Express" luxury train, where he played for luminaries like Joanne Woodward and Dan Fogelberg, and featured on German, Japanese, and American television and radio. Notably, he entertained alongside band leader Larry Nozero at the Grande Hotel on Mackinac Island, performing for Governor John Engler at his mansion.

In addition to his solo work, Mr. Reeves has collaborated and recorded with esteemed local musicians and DJs such as Brian Gillespie (owner of Throw Records) and Mack Goudy (aka DJ Paris from Interscope Records techno and electro artist, “the Detroit Grand Pubahs). He has entertained guests from major corporations such as General Motors, Honda, Nissan, and MGM Grand Hotel, and was recognized by Metro Times in 1995 as one of Detroit's top five jazz pianists. Since the reopening of the Caucus Club in 2017, he has been honored with regular performances there.

Furthermore, Mr. Reeves showcases his diverse musical repertoire with Detroit's own five-piece party band, "The Vinyl Underground". Guests at the Caucus Club can expect to hear him cover artists ranging from Frank Sinatra and Elton John, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash, Depeche Mode, and Portishead, ensuring a rich musical experience for all audiences.
